HDR Support for Subnautica 2

Description

This Mod adds HDR support to Subnautica 2. 

Installation instructions

• Install UE4SS: Ensure you have the latest version of UE4SS installed in your game directory.[/*]

• Install SN2ModSettings: This mod requires the latest SN2ModSettings framework to display the UI.[/*]

• Deploy Mod: Extract the Subnautica2HDR folder into Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 ue4ss Mods .[/*]

• The Engine.ini Tweak:

• Navigate to %localappdata% Subnautica2 Saved Config Windows [/*]

• Open Engine.ini (create it if it doesn't exist).[/*]

• Add the following lines to the bottom:

[SystemSettings]

r.AllowHDR=1[/*]

• Save the file, right-click it, select Properties, and check Read-Only. If you do not set it to Read-Only, the game will delete this line on launch and the mod will not work.[/*]

Also Important:

When installing the mod for the first time with everything and opening the game, the mod tab won't have the HDR mod in there. That is totally normal! That happens because the SN2ModSettings mod needs to register the HDR mod first. When you then relaunch the game the HDR Toggles should appear.

I would also recommend you always removing the registrations and saved files from these paths when installing a new version of the mod to prevent conflicts.

Saved path: D: Steam steamapps common Subnautica2 Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 ue4ss Mods SN2ModSettings saved

Registrations Path: D: Steam steamapps common Subnautica2 Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 ue4ss Mods SN2ModSettings registrations

The file name is Subnautica2HDR.lua in both folders.

Requirements

• Windows HDR: Must be toggled ON in Windows Display Settings before launching the game.[/*]

• UE4SS: Required for script injection.[/*]

• SN2ModSettings: Required for the in-game "Mods" settings tab.[/*]

• Read-Only Engine.ini: The game will disable HDR support on startup unless the config file is locked.[/*]
