Take control of your scanning experience! This mod allows you to precisely adjust how fast you scan fragments and objects.

All settings are now handled through a simple standalone configuration file.

STANDALONE UPDATE - WHY WAS THIS CHANGED?

SN2ModSettings was removed from Nexus Mods by its author. Since that mod was responsible for displaying the in-game settings menu, the previous menu integration could no longer work or be downloaded by new users.

Scanner Speed Mod has therefore been updated to work completely independently. All scanning features remain available, but the speed is now changed through the included config.lua file.

The mod checks the configuration every second. Changes apply while the game is running, without pausing or restarting it.

INSTALLATION

• Install UE4SS.[/*]

CONFIGURATION

Open ScannerSpeedMod config.lua using Notepad.

Enabled = true - Enables the mod.Enabled = false - Disables the mod and restores the original scan durations.Instant = true - Enables Instant Scan and overrides the speed multiplier.SpeedMultiplier - Can be set anywhere from 1.0 to 10.0.The configuration file is checked every second. You can change and save it while playing. The new setting will be applied immediately without pausing or restarting the game.

FIRST LAUNCH NOTICE

During the first launch, one or more console windows may briefly appear while UE4SS loads the mod and Scanner Speed Mod creates or updates its scan-duration cache.

This is expected and harmless. Scanner Speed Mod does not download or send any data.

The windows should stop appearing after the initial scan data has been saved. They may return after game updates that introduce new scannable objects.

TECHNICAL NOTE / STABILITY

For the most stable experience, it is highly recommended to use the Standard Non-Developer version of UE4SS.

The core scanning logic has been extensively tested during more than two hours of continuous gameplay on the Standard version with zero issues. The Developer version of the loader can sometimes cause instability.

Subnautica 2 is still in Early Access. If a game update causes the mod to stop working, please include your UE4SS.log file when reporting the problem.
