# Tadpole Chassis Boost

Press **X** while piloting a **Tadpole** (or Haul chassis) for a short, configurable speed boost — then values restore automatically to vanilla.

Designed to be **crash-safe**: the mod only writes movement properties during the boost window and uses a single delayed restore (no pulse loops, no swim-speed API hacks).

- **Easy in-game tuning** — no file editing required. All options appear in the **Cheat Toggles EZ Config Menu** (via **SN2 Mod Settings** → **Mods** tab → **Tadpole Chassis Boost**):

  - Boost duration

  - Cooldown

  - Acceleration multiplier

  - Max swim speed multiplier

  - Cooldown toast on/off

  - **Reset to defaults** toggle

Install UE4SS first, then SN2 Mod Settings and Cheat Toggles, following each mod’s own instructions.

## Installation

1. Extract the **`Tadpole_Chassis_Boost`** folder into:

  ```

  Subnautica2 Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 ue4ss Mods

  ```

2. **Restart the game.**

The mod includes **`enabled.txt`**, so you do **not** need to manually edit `mods.txt`.

## Configuration

1. Open **Settings** in-game.

2. Open the **Cheat Toggles EZ Config Menu** — the **Mods** tab added by **SN2 Mod Settings**.

3. Scroll to **Tadpole Chassis Boost** and adjust sliders/toggles.

No restart needed after changing values. Use **Reset to defaults** at the bottom of the section to restore factory settings.

Changes apply live — no restart needed. Use **Reset to defaults** at the bottom of the section to restore the values above.

### Console commands (optional)

Open the UE4SS console (`~`) if enabled:

## Uninstallation

Delete the **`Tadpole_Chassis_Boost`** folder from:

Optional cleanup (not required for the mod to stop working):

- `ue4ss Mods SN2ModSettings registrations Tadpole_Chassis_Boost.lua`

- `ue4ss Mods SN2ModSettings saved Tadpole_Chassis_Boost.lua`

Restart the game after removal.

## Compatibility

May conflict with other mods that change the Tadpole base movement **GameplayEffect** or **MaxSwimSpeed** value.

Works alongside many vehicle/inventory mods; if boost feels wrong after installing another Tadpole tweak mod, check load order and test with other movement mods disabled.

This release is a standalone UE4SS Lua rebuild with SN2 Mod Settings support, cooldown toasts, and crash-safe restore behaviour.
