Description
Beds finally do something.
Bed Sleep Prototype lets you sleep through the night in Subnautica 2 by looking at a bed and left-clicking it. After a short delay, the mod advances time to early morning, so you can stop standing next to your bed like a confused sea goblin waiting for sunrise.
This first version is tuned and tested for the 60 min Day Duration Mod by CRealEmSay
https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica2/mods/136?tab=description A vanilla-tuned version may come later.
Installation instructions
1. Make sure UE4SS is installed for Subnautica 2.
2. Install the 60 min Day Duration Mod by CRealEmSay
(https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica2/mods/136?tab=description) that makes days longer and nights shorter.
This release is tuned specifically for that day/night setup.
3. Download the ZIP file.
4. Open the ZIP.
Inside it, you should see the BedSleepPrototype folder.
5. Extract the entire BedSleepPrototype folder into your UE4SS Mods folder:

6. The final path should look like this:
Subnautica2 Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 ue4ss Mods BedSleepPrototype
7. Start the game, look at a bed at night, and left-click to sleep.
Optional: Adjusting the wake-up time
If the wake-up time feels too early or too late for your setup, you can tweak it manually.
Open this file:
BedSleepPrototype Scripts main.lua
Look for this line near the top:
SLEEP_MORNING_FRACTION = 0.21
Lower value = wake up earlier.
Higher value = wake up later.
Recommended values:
- 0.20 = very early sunrise
- 0.21 = current default, tuned for longer days / shorter nights
- 0.22 = slightly later
- 0.23 = safer bright morning
After changing the value, save the file and restart the game.
Do not change random other numbers unless you enjoy offering yourself as tribute to the modding gods.

Important:
This release is tuned and tested with the 60min Day Duration mod by CRealEmSay (https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica2/mods/136?tab=description) - version that makes days longer and nights shorter.
The mod may still work with other setups, but the wake-up timing may feel off. If the sun looks like it forgot to clock in, that is probably why.

Permissions, limitations and future updates
You can do whatever you want with this mod. Modify it, improve it, fix it, reupload your own version, or use it as a base for something better.
I probably will not update this mod very often due to limited time. I also do not really know much about coding; this mod was built with help from OpenAI ChatGPT and Codex.
Known limitations:
- No custom sleep animation.
- No custom UI prompt.
- No native E-interaction hook.
- The mod uses a lightweight bed-triggered time skip.
- Only works at night.
- Wake-up timing is tuned for the 60min Day Duration mod by CRealEmSay (https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica2/mods/136?tab=description) version with longer days and shorter nights.
- Other day/night setups may work, but are not officially supported in this release.
